It’s offically one week after Halloween. Most houses have both left over candy that didn’t get picked up….and the kids all have half a bucket of candy stashed in their rooms and they’re eating it all just because it’s there, right?
Here’s a great solution: Before the kids teeth rot, or the candy spoils, we can get that candy over to our U.S. Troops overseas. “Operation Gratitude” sends care packages to our troops overseas, and are preparing care packages of leftover Halloween Candy. We’d like to help get a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup or two over to someone who will really appreciate it, and here’s how you can too:
1) Please ship or deliver your donations NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 1, 2012 to:
Operation Gratitude/California Army National Guard
Halloween Candy/Attn Rich Hernandez
17330 Victory Boulevard
Van Nuys, CA 91406
2) You pay to ship to the facility, but if you let us know BELOW, in the comments, that you sent a shipment to the U.S. Facility, Glad.is will make a donation to pay for your candy to be packaged and sent overseas.
3) Extra Bonus: If you family has time, please send a note to a solider with your candy – from Operation Gratitude: ”The most cherished things for troops are the personal letters of appreciation! Our goal is to include several letters and colorful drawings in every Care Package and tell our troops “WE CARE!” ”
Her are some pointers on what to say in your letter to a US Service person here: http://www.operationgratitude.com/halloween-candy-buy-back-2012/
