When You Really Want to Blow Your Mind. Remember, We Are Stars.

we are star stuff

Where are you stuck today?  What comment from a friend, partner, relative or co-worker brought up old wounds?  What circumstance is keeping you small and preventing you from being present?

Who you are is so much deeper, and far more vast and connected than any separation the ego can create. And this is so not only because deep inside you know it to be true, but also because science does prove it:

Recognize that the very molecules that make up your body, the atoms that construct the molecules, are traceable to the crucibles that were once the centers of high mass stars that exploded their chemically rich guts into the galaxy, enriching pristine gas clouds with the chemistry of life. So that we are all connected to each other biologically, to the earth chemically and to the rest of the universe atomically. It’s not that we are better than the universe, we are part of the universe. We are in the universe and the universe is in us. ― Neil deGrasse Tyson

This is pretty epic, and and the very least, a lot to comprehend. Please, take a moment to be inspired by Professor Tyson, and hear it, in his own words, set to some of the most stunning visuals on the web:

Wow, right? If you want the science to really sink in, the :30 recap:

Universe: Neil deGrasse Tyson from Po-Chen Chia on Vimeo.

All matter is made of atoms that were created in the center of stars. So if you think about it, when we look up at the stars, our eyes are actually looking back in time at the very things that created them.  No wonder its so awe inspiring – When we gaze at the stars, we are the universe looking at and learning about itself.
